| Monet in Milan |
|
The exhibition, organized in cooperation with the Marmottan Monet Museum, the Claude Monet Foundation, Civita association, the group Motta - Sole 24 Ore and the Municipality of Milan is surely one of the most important events of the next spring.
By presenting some of the most famous masterpieces of the father of Impressionism, the exhibition will investigate the influence of Monet’s love to the Japanese culture and the garden on his art. Contemporary photographs of the great painter in his garden of Giverny and an extraordinary selection of Japanese print from the collection of the Guimet Museum in Paris can be admired too, including famous works by Hokusai and Hiroshige. This memorable event is taking place in the charming location of Palazzo Reale in Milan.

24 February 1607 proved indeed “a happy and auspicious day”: it marked the premiere of Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in the Ducal Palace in Mantua. It was the birth of a masterpiece and also the birth of opera as an art form.
For this brand new production, Italian early music specialist Rinaldo Alessandrini unites with director Robert Wilson, who has drawn inspiration for his staging from a famous painting by Titian.
